Frequently Asked Questions

How do the four knives stay secure inside the base?

The lower timber compartment features four custom contoured recessed slots designed specifically for each knife blade and handle. When the rotating top lid is closed, the utensils remain securely nestled inside, making the unit compact, tidy, and easy to pack away.

Can we slice cheeses directly on the engraved top lid?

To preserve the crisp details of your laser engraving for future gatherings, we recommend slicing dense blocks on the smooth outer sections of the lid or using a small side board, reserving the engraved centrepiece for presentation, soft cheeses, and table grazing.

Is rubberwood suitable for direct food contact?

Yes. Rubberwood is a dense, non porous hardwood widely used in kitchenware due to its smooth surface and stability. We recommend seasoning the timber with a thin coat of food grade mineral oil before your first gathering to protect the timber fibres from moisture and natural food oils.
